Middleton Outreach Ministry
The Food Pantry is MOM’s flagship operation. Operating year round, six days per week, we serve nearly 600 households each month, including around 1,500 children. Not only one of the largest in Dane County, the Food Pantry is one of the most progressive pantries because of its unique model.
Guests to the Pantry can take as much food as they can use and can visit as often as they need, effectively eliminating hunger for anyone in our service area.
MOM proudly partners with Second Harvest Food Bank and Community Action Coalition, and receives support from businesses and foundations throughout the community as well as over a hundred volunteers. In 2012, MOM distributed 376 tons of food, equaling approximately 60,000 pounds of food per month, enough to fill nearly a semi-truck-and-a-half full of food.
Community: Local Food Banks
Lussier Center – The Food Pantry, one of WRNC’s first programs and partnerships, has been running for more than 25 years. Donations from area congregations and community groups provide food for families across Madison.
The pantry provides an assortment of nutritionally balanced non-perishable food items to individuals and families up to 12 times a year.
St. Vincent de Paul
St. Vincent de Paul operates the largest food pantry in Dane County . We have changed to a client choice model and relocated to 2033 Fish Hatchery Road in Madison, Wisconsin. Nearly 22,000 households were served in 2009.
We donated over $1,300,000 of food last year. People needing assistance with food are given 3 days of groceries. Recipients are eligible for assistance once every 30 days.
